Oh No !?!

I use to run for fun a few years back but it was just for exercise. While now I run for the love of it and to reach goals that I have set for myself. I have only been training for 4 weeks so you can imagine my annoyance when earlier this week I was having a great run and I leapt off the sidewalk and landed the wrong way on my foot. I finished my run but my foot started to hurt so I took the next day off but then went right back to it. Now I know the rules about listening to your body and all that but I have a race on August 8th that I am training for and I didn't want to throw off my schedule. So I ran for 3 more days and my body finally said "stop...don't be so stupid... you know it's a sprain". So I am listening now and taking a few days off to get my foot better. It is so frustrating. I was just begining to hit my stride and feel good about running. Maybe a few days off will do me some good!

Where To Start?

Ummmm, hello. Really...where do you begin with a new blog? I guess I can start with the content of this blog. I am a runner...at least I am trying to be one. So this blog will be about my quest to become a real runner from training, to running my first 5 mile, half marathon and then my first marathon.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have started setting personal goals for myself over the last year. First it was over coming certain fears such as learning to snowboard. While now it is learning who I am through running.

I have struggled with weight over the last 6 years so it is fair to say that part of this quest is motivated by climbing back to health and losing weight in the process.
